Micro-interactions and User Delight

The Invisible Layer of UX

Micro-interactions are the subtle moments where the user and the design interact. They aren't just for show; they provide vital feedback. When a user clicks a button and it subtly changes color or displays a loading spinner, it confirms that their action was recognized.

Implementing Effective Motion:

  1. Duration: Keep animations between 200ms and 500ms. Anything longer feels sluggish.
  2. Easing: Avoid linear movements. Use "ease-in-out" or custom cubic-bezier curves to make the motion feel natural.
  3. Purpose: Every animation should guide the user. A "shake" on a login form indicates an error, while a smooth slide-down menu suggests discovery.

The goal is to enhance the session experience without causing "animation fatigue."
